If you are an individual with skills and experience that align with an occupation on the skilled occupation list or a specific occupation list for a particular State, there may be a visa subclass appropriate for you under general skilled migration (GSM). Visa subclasses include the 189, 190, 491. The first step of the process would be to submit an expression of interest with the Department of Home Affairs. If the expression of interest is successful, The Department will invite you to apply for the relevant visa. Please contact us for an eligibility assessment under GSM.

Global Talent Visas

The Global Talent is a permanent visa which requires the applicant to demonstrate that they:

    • Are internationally recognised with evidence of outstanding achievements.
    • Are prominent in their field of expertise.
    • Have a recognised organisation or individual with a national reputation in the same field in Australia nominate them as global talent.

Partner visas

A partner visa or the prospective marriage visa would be appropriate when an overseas national marries or intends to marry an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen. If you have married an Australian or permanent resident or intend to get married soon, please contact us to discuss the most appropriate pathway for you to obtain your partner visa or a prospective marriage visa.

An eligible NZ citizen does not include all NZ citizens but covers a specific cohort as defined under the Social Security Act 1991.

Parent Visas

Parent visas can be temporary or permanent. Standard parent visas that offer permanent residency require that at least 50% of the applicant’s children are considered ‘settled’ in Australia and hold either Australian citizenship or permanent residency. Investor Visas

Investor visas fall under the Business Innovation and Investment visa stream and includes individuals who are looking to operate a new or existing business in Australia and can provided a track record of your success in business along with evidence of at least AUD 1.25 million of your net business and personal assets. Others visas within this subclass includes the investor visas which requires a minimum investment of AUD 2.5 million in specific investments.

Generally speaking, eligibility for Australian citizenship requires that you have lived in Australia for at least 4 years of which at least the last 12 months are as an Australian permanent resident. This is known as the residence requirement. During this period, you are allowed to be absent from Australia for 12 months within the 4 year period and 3 months within the final 12 months before applying.
